I first met the L. family way back in 2008, when I was just beginning my photography journey.

It’s hard to believe how much has changed since then—not only how much I’ve grown as a photographer, but how those little kids are suddenly not so little anymore. Where does the time go?

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of capturing both of her boys’ senior sessions, and it was so special to meet up again for a quick winter family shoot. And when I say winter, I really mean it! This season has been unusually mild for our area, with temps mostly in the high 30s and 40s and very little snow—which is rare for us. But the weekend after Christmas delivered the real deal.

We squeezed in these photos on a day when the high barely hit the low 20s, and with the wind chill it felt closer to 10 degrees—no exaggeration! In all my years of shooting, this was hands down the only time I’ve ever completely lost feeling in my fingers. We definitely had to work fast!

Thank you, L. family, for braving the cold and making this session happen. You’d never know from these photos just how frozen we all were! I truly look forward to capturing many more memories for your family in the years to come. 💛
